Question: I have a property that, at present, has a single three-phase supply for electrics, a single water supply and single gas supply. The property has multiple occupancies in different areas (commercial). We wish to install separate metered electrical supplies for each occupant (this application is going through the local distributor now). This will result in five separate supplies into the property (a single three-phase and 4 X single-phase supplies).

With respect to bonding of the water and gas (which are NOT being separated), does each of the five supplies need bonding in its own right to the gas and water - therefore five bonding connections after the respective meters?

Answer: Main equipotential bonding will be required for each installation. See IEE Guidance note 8 Section 5.7 for more information.
