New Civic takes control

2007-11-05

Thorn’s re-designed Civic lantern opens up a new world for installers of street lighting. Apart from the essentials of good road lighting – high performance and durability - Civic now integrates sustainability and energy saving with quick and easy installation and operation.

The new aluminium Civic has a number of improved features. It has been specially designed to take the latest generation of metal halide lamps and digital dimmable control gear and an inbuilt energy management (Telea) version will be available in late 2007

Maintenance for the contractor is quick and easy thanks to: tool-free access to the gear, improved electrical connection and a rotating spigot (34-60mm for side entry and 60-76mm for post-top mounting). So installation can easily be a one-person job.

The Civic range is all about choice. Within one consistent and unobtrusive design there is a choice of body size, shallow bowl or flat glass, lamp options from 50 to 250W, vandal-proof versions and a residential distribution option for where a ''softer'' cut-off is required.
