A free half-day workshop by The Carbon Trust will offer practical advice on how organisations can become more energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions:

This half-day workshop by The Carbon Trust comes in two parts - Introduction to Heating, and Introduction to Lighting.

08:45 to 12:30 - Introduction to Heating:

  • Identify where you can save energy by managing resources more efficiently.
  • Examine the ways in which you can use energy and learn how to test the efficiency of your systems.
  • Implement your own action plan and take immediate steps to manage your energy.

13:15 to 16:30 - Introduction to Lighting:

  • Identify low and no cost actions via interactive sessions and lighting demonstrations.
  • Examine key areas where savings can be made and learn about the most effective new technologies.
  • Implement an action plan, including a breakdown of steps for immediate and long term savings.

These workshops are aimed at those who are able to make or influence decisions regarding the reduction of heating and lighting. We would advise that these events are of particular benefit to those working in the following fields; energy management, facilities management, operations, engineering, and finance.

The first of these events will be held on 19 September 2007 at the Wales Village Hotel and Leisure Club, Swansea. There are others:

  • 20 September 2007 - The Quay Hotel, Deganwy.
  • 26 September 2007 - Midland Q Hotel, Manchester.
  • 27 September 2007 - Institute of Directors Building, London.
