The opportunity to use the renowned BSI Kitemark, which is recognised by over 82% of consumers as a symbol of quality and safety, is a key benefit of the electrical installers registration scheme that is being offered by BSI Product Services:

The electrical installers registration scheme also meets the requirements of Competent Person registration in line with Part P of the Building Regulations.

Not only does the high consumer recognition of the Kitemark make it easier for contractors who join the scheme to win business, research carried out on behalf of BSI has also shown that up to 70% of those who responded were prepared to pay a premium for services backed by the Kitemark.

Provides extra visibility and more:

As a further aid to business growth, Kitemark-registered businesses are listed on the BSI website, providing additional visibility and allowing potential customers to quickly and easily identify them as accredited local installers.

Registered installers can also be sure that they are complying fully with all of the requirements of the latest legislation as, during the registration process, BSI experts will guide them through all of the steps needed for full and effective compliance. This work is complemented by regular audits to ensure that scheme members always remain fully up to date.

The Kitemark scheme is achievable for electrical installers meeting the requirements of BS 7671:2001 for Electrical Installations. Electrical contractors may also gain the Kitemark if they carry out work in relation to fire detection and alarm systems to BS 5839 Parts 1 and 7, or emergency lighting to BS 5266 Parts 1 and 7.
