EAL (EMTA Awards Limited) specialises, and is market leader, in vocational qualifications for the engineering and technology sector, raising the competitiveness and value of industry.  In recent years EAL has developed a portfolio of qualifications for the building services engineering sector, including electrical qualifications, which is how the partnership with Voltimum UK began.

With skills high on the Government’s agenda EAL take their role as a market leading awarding body very seriously, and develop qualifications in partnership and consultation with industry, colleges, training providers and GTA’s to set the structure and content of each qualification, ensuring it is up to date and meets customer needs.

Of the partnership with Voltimum EAL’s Managing Director Ann Watson explains; “For EAL 2007 is a very important year for developing links within the building services engineering sector and raising awareness of EAL.  As a relatively new entrant to the building services market we are keen to let people know that a credible alternative to their existing supplier is now on the scene, especially as we are developing more and more qualifications for the sector including those for the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.   We are very excited to be working with Voltimum and look forward to providing users with more information about EAL, including our future plans for 17th edition, very soon.”

From aeronautical engineering to plumbing, EAL's comprehensive range of NVQs accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority covers all aspects of engineering.  Beyond that, EAL’s N/SVQs extend to supporting areas where employee competence to national standards can contribute to business success: administration, business improvement, distribution and warehousing, environmental effectiveness, health and safety, learning and development, management and manufacturing.

In addition EAL offers Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) at Levels 1-3 to give candidates a blend of academic knowledge and practical skills as they shape their careers. Key Skills (and their Scottish equivalent, Core Skills,) and Technical Certificates required by apprentices are other aspects of our provision, making EAL the ideal one-stop shop for those delivering engineering apprenticeships.
