Key products on display will include ABB’s KNX/EIB smart building controls, offering users intelligent automatic control of home and building functions from lighting and shutter control through to heating, ventilation, security and energy management.

For those interested in the latest in consumer unit technology, ABB will be displaying the Housemaster Compact consumer unit, which offers a flexible split load providing added protection and isolation capabilities.  A main isolating switch feeds essential circuits such as lighting and other circuits protected with residual current devices (RCD), whilst other devices, such as showers, can be assigned separate MCBs to protect against electrical faults without disrupting power distributed around the building.

Another key feature of the Housemaster is its ability to accommodate non-standard configurations. Instead of being confined to typical combinations of 4+4 or 6+6 only, it provides extra flexibility by enabling installers to achieve variations including 3+5 or 2+6.

Also present will be ABB’s Alpha bs® wiring accessories, a range of stylish switches and sockets aimed at the architectural and interior design markets. Available in a choice of five finishes: platinum, palladium, titanium, ivory and white, the Alpha bs® range has been designed with fast and simple installation in mind. A modular design enables the internal components to be easily fixed onto a grid system, while the frame and switchplate or coverplate, which snap into position to conceal the mounting screws, do not have to be installed until the very last moment – ensuring they remain clean and undamaged.

Visitors to the stands will also be able to see examples of ABB’s range of Busch-Watchdog PIR sensors, including the recently upgraded AlarmLINE, ProfessionalLINE and SelectLINE models. Featuring ‘rearfield detection’ and an increased 16 metre range, all of these sensors now incorporate microprocessors, enabling them to offer an expanded range of functions.

“Our ELEX stands will give visitors an idea of the broad range of products that ABB can provide for the electrical contracting market,” says James Haigh, General Manager, ABB low voltage products. “As a global leader in electrical products and systems for homes and commercial and industrial buildings, ABB offers electrical contractors the highest quality products backed up by premium levels of customer service and support.”
