Electrical contracting company W E Manin Ltd., based in Sittingbourne, Kent has installed a combined 60,000m of Prysmian's FP Plus and FP200 Gold cable, throughout the complex for ADT Fire & Security. The development led by Lend Lease and Quintain Estates and Development PLC together with English Partnerships, is part of Greenwich's £5bn regeneration programme, to transform the area into a new urban community providing 10,000 homes and 24,000 jobs. Work started in November 2006 and was completed in June 2007. Overseeing the installation is managing director of W E Manin Pat Jackson. He said: " Prysmian's FP200 Gold and FP Plus cables are so easy to prepare for each termination that we've halved the time than if we had used the MICC alternative. Their superb durability means they are trustworthy and reliable, which is vital for use with essential life safety systems." Julie Mould, marketing manager at Prysmian comments: "Our unique fire resistant cables incorporate hard skin Insudite insulation and remain the market leading fire alarm system cable brand. They allow for maximum ease of termination with an unmatched combination of rigidity and ease of bending, all features which are designed to help speed the installation on projects like the development of the Greenwich Peninsula."
