From April last year, as part of the 'Buildsafe-NI' initiative, all contractors seeking to tender directly for Northern Ireland Public Sector 'works' contracts (under the EU Procurement Threshold) have been required to provide evidence that they have 3rd party accreditation of their health and safety (H & S) management system:
