The Supplier Guide details how the ODA will buy and manage around 2,000 direct contracts with businesses who in turn will manage about 50,000 agreements within their own supply chains.

An accompanying guide for smaller companies looking for opportunities within those supply chains will be published later in the year.

The guide will direct companies through the qualifying and bidding processes, alerting them to the criteria and values the ODA requires, so that they and their subcontractors will keep to the same.

ODA head of procurement Morag Stuart said: “We want to work in partnership with the best in business to deliver the venues and infrastructure needed for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, whilst contributing to a sustainable legacy. To achieve world-class business performance our procurement will be open, transparent and fair. This guide aims to help businesses of all sizes, from all over the UK, support the Games and potentially benefit from their success.”
