Featuring space-saving compact construction, convenient DIN rail mounting, high efficiency and comprehensive integrated protection, power supplies in the new Phaseo family from Telemecanique, a brand of Schneider Electric, are available with ratings from 7 to 1440W, and are complemented by modules that provide convenient and cost-effective solutions to guard against supply interruptions.
Phaseo switchmode power supplies are available in three ranges: Universal, which provides maximum versatility; Optimum, which combines simplicity with performance; and Modular, which offers attractively priced solutions for low power applications. Also available are Phaseo rectified power supplies for applications where a traditional linear supply is preferred, and Phaseo control circuit transformers rated at up to 2,500VA.
Delivering nominal 24V outputs, Phaseo Universal supplies are available with ratings up to 960W. Versions rated at up to 240W have the exceptionally wide input voltage range of 72V to 500V, allowing them to be connected between phases in three-phase systems where no convenient neutral connection is available. The 480W models can be supplied in versions for use from single- or three-phase supplies, while the 960W model is designed for use with three-phase supplies only.
All Phaseo Universal models provide a generous 50% power boost, allowing them to operate for short periods at 150% load. This eliminates the need to use larger more costly power supplies simply to cater for switching and similar transients. The units also feature integrated diagnostics, and can be used in conjunction with Phaseo converter modules to provide auxiliary output voltages.
Ancillary modules available to further extend the versatility of Phaseo Universal power supplies include buffer modules to bridge supply interruptions from 100mS up to a few seconds, battery back-up modules to cover supply outages from minutes to hours, and selective protection modules. Phaseo Universal power supplies are also suitable for use in N+1 redundant configurations for applications where maximum security of supply is essential.
For simpler applications involving loads up to 120W, Phaseo Optimum power supplies are a cost-effective choice. Available with 12V, 24V and 48V outputs, these compact units incorporate a protection circuit which, in the event of an overload or short circuit, disconnects the output before it falls to a level which could cause PLCs and similar devices to malfunction. Optional automatic reset is available after faults have been cleared, ensuring the fastest possible return to service.
An ideal complement for Zelio Logic intelligent relays from Telemecanique, Phaseo Modular power supplies are offered in versions with ratings up to 60W and 5V, 12V or 24V outputs. Designed for operation from single-phase AC supplies in the range 100V to 240V, Phaseo Modular supplies feature overload and short circuit protection which, in most applications, makes the use of downstream protection unnecessary.
