The leading training provider in the Building Services Engineering sector, JTL, has developed a unique training course in partnership with the Association of Mechanical and Electrical Trades (AEMT) and Centre of Excellence at Loughborough College. The course aims to provide businesses in the electrical and mechanical allied trades with skilled motor rewind and repair craftspeople.
Developed specifically for the motor rewind sector, this unique course is available to companies throughout the UK looking to take on apprentices. The JTL Advanced Apprenticeship combines practical on-site training with a local employer, assessed by a JTL trade specific assessor, and theoretical study. The study element takes place at Loughborough College in several blocks of three and four weeks during the first two years of the apprenticeship.
JTL's Chief Executive, Denis Hird says: "The development of this specialist course comes as part of our ongoing strategy to provide skilled trades people of the highest calibre for all sectors in the building services engineering industry."
He goes on to say: "We are delighted to work with AEMT and Loughborough College to further develop this tailored course and look forward to seeing the success stories that will arise from this partnership."
Apprentices study four components to qualify:
- A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ Level 3) demonstrates that an apprentice is competent to do a job in the working environment, to the highest industry standards.
- Technical Certificates show that, in addition to practical experience an apprentice has a thorough understanding of the latest technical theory and best practice in their chosen field.
- Key Skills ensure that apprentices have the necessary, basic life skills to communicate and work effectively with customers and colleagues.
- An Industry requirement completes the Practical Performance Assessment during Stage 4 at an approved training centre
