The new lighting has been so well received that Past Times will now be relamping all 74 of its stores with OSRAM DECOSTAR IRC dichroic and HALOSTAR IRC capsule lamps.
Past Times is a popular retail chain which offers consumers a variety of items inspired by designs from historic periods. Unfortunately for the Kendal branch, until June this year, their lighting design was still inspired by the dark ages.
Dingy lighting has been restored. The optimum light levels by Parkersell, who in conjunction with OSRAM recommended using 140 OSRAM DECOSTAR IRC dichroic lamps to breathe life into the store. OSRAM DECOSTAR IRC gives an excellent crisp beam to enhance displays. The long life energy saving IRC technology means that 35W lamps can be used to give the same light output as 50W standard lamps and they last twice as long.
“We’re really delighted with this new lighting!” beams Store Manager, Dorothy Jenkins. “Before it was like being in a cave. Customers used to ask us what was wrong with the lighting. The new lighting has transformed our displays, and we also benefit from 30% energy savings.”

In the meantime, Past Times in Kendal has emerged from the cave and is enjoying light inspired by the future.
