The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) aims to strengthen and expand information networks for members with the appointment of a new Director of Members Services.
Marie Dignan takes up the position from 25th April and joins CIBSE straight from fellow membership organisation the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). Marie will be taking over from Jonathan David, who is retiring from the Institution having completed a long an distinguished period of service, and gaining a number of his responsibilities including Secretary of the Society of Light and Lighting.
With experience in communicating with members in the UK and internationally, and working in partnership with other professional bodies in engineering and construction, Marie is well placed to take the Institution forward and oversee this planned growth. "I look forward to working at CIBSE and to provide a focus for developing and strengthening the information networks for societies and regions that will benefit the Institution and its members," she said.
After record levels of membership in 2006, figures have now reached over 18,000 and CIBSE is keen to ensure that standards of member services remain high, with improved information networks encompassing the work of groups, regions and societies.
Welcoming the appointment, CIBSE Chief Executive Stephen Matthews added "After a successful 2006 we aim to build on the rising numbers of members joining the Institution and therefore must ensure that member services remain at a high standard ? a task that our new Director of Member Services will fulfill."
