ABB will host a Technology Day at the National Motorcycle Museum on 16th May, providing help and advice on some of the more challenging aspects of electrical engineering.
Created and hosted by experts from ABB, the Technology Day will unravel the mysteries of topics such as electrical discrimination and harmonics.
Aimed primarily at M&E engineers, consultants and design contractors in the building services sector, each seminar will run for around one hour and cover the main issues associated with each topic.
Some of the topics covered will include:
- Electrical discrimination – explains everything from what discrimination means through to the types of protection devices to use and how to carry out a proper fault and protection study
- An easy guide to harmonics and power quality – ABB will help to increase electrical engineers’ knowledge of how harmonics are generated and how to cope with and reduce their effects
- Intelligent building controls – this seminar looks specifically at ABB’s EIB intelligent building system and uses real-life examples to show how it can be used to achieve automation and integration of building services
- Using FieldBus Plugs for easier integration and connection between devices – ABB’s neutral FieldBus Plug (FBP) concept brings simplicity and flexibility to fieldbus applications.
The Technology Day is being held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, West Midlands. After the seminars, attendees will be given a guided tour of the museum, where they will be able to view some of the most famous motorcycles developed by British engineers over the past century.
