Local MP (North West Cambridgeshire) Shailesh Vara has seen the future of energy efficient products designed to reduce the devastating effects of Climate Change – in Peterborough at the Applied Energy manufacturing site on Morley Way; home of Redring, Xpelair and Creda.

Mr Vara toured the Applied Energy manufacturing facilities and saw production commence on the company’s latest multi-million pound order to the USA for advanced hot water production technology and met some of the local employees working there. John Lee, Managing Director of Applied Energy, showed Mr Vara some of the latest products the company is developing in response to the urgent need for low-to-zero carbon technology which can help in the global effort to combat climate change. The company offers a huge variety of domestic and commercial heating and ventilating products and is at the forefront of market development in heat pumps, solar thermal collectors and advanced controls for modern-electric central heating which can utilise zero-carbon sources central electricity generation to produce zero-carbon electric central heating.
Commenting during the tour Mr Vara said, “I’m impressed and encouraged with Applied Energy’s commitment to investing in renewable technologies and helping to create and safeguard jobs in the Peterborough area. It is especially encouraging that the company has exports across the world, including to the US and over 70 other countries – it’s a real local success story.
For Applied Energy Mr Lee said, “Mr Vara has helped us in cutting through the red-tape of the Low Carbon Building Programme, a government scheme that supports investment in Renewable Technologies and we would like to thank him for his support. Applied Energy is investing in the technologies that can help reduce the effects of climate change and global warming, while securing jobs in Peterborough with growth in domestic and export orders for our Xpelair, Redring and Creda heating brands”
