The original EMC Directive (89/336/EEC) was adopted on 3 May 1989 and came into force in January 1992. Under this Directive, OEMs have a legal requirement to state that their equipment satisfies the requirements of the EMC Directive. The UK regulations implementing the EMC Directive were revised in 2005 and published as Statutory Instrument 2005/281. Voltimum UK Managing Editor introduces EMC in this VoltiBULLETIN Extra:
