The demand for portable appliance testing is growing, driven by obligations from insurance companies and other organizations concerned with the safety of employees and the general public. The 6200/6500 PAT testers meet these needs, and satisfy the requirements of contract testing businesses of all sizes. Although they are the first of this type of instrument from Fluke, the company has drawn on very broad experience in this field from one of its subsidiary companies. Fluke has applied its ergonomics know-how and user-interface design experience to produce rugged instruments that work highly efficiently in a high-throughput, competitive application area.
- Fully automatic model 6500 with QWERTY keyboard and additional Compact Flash memory
- Manual model 6200 with dedicated 'one-touch' testing for each test sequence
Compact flash memory
Designed for very high throughput, the model 6500 is a fully automatic PAT tester with pre-set and user-programmable test sequences and professional test modes. It features an integral QWERTY keyboard for rapid data entry plus a large backlit graphics display for showing informative help screens and detailed data formats. A Compact Flash memory facility is used for backing up the internal memory and speeding up the transfer of measurement data to a PC for documenting results. An optional Fluke SPSCAN 15 barcode scanner is available for reliable data transfer.
'One-touch' testing
The model 6200 greatly simplifies manual testing by incorporating a dedicated key for each test sequence, and provides a cost-effective solution for lower volume requirements. Pre-set pass/fail levels help save time when carrying out tests. This model has an internal memory and a backlit alphanumeric display for easy reading. Both the 6500 and 6200 models have a mains socket plus a separate IEC socket for testing mains and extension leads, and conform to safety standard EN61010.
Compact and convenient in the field
Weighing approximately 3 kilograms, the enclosures have a built-in carrying handle but are also supplied in a separate protective hard carrying case with extra storage space for accessories. Unlike most conventional PAT testers, which have bulky integral protective cases, the new Fluke models are more compact and convenient in the field. The test leads are detachable allowing them to be easily replaced if they become damaged or worn due to extensive use.
Complete package
The Fluke 6200/6500 PAT testers are supplied with carrying case, test leads, test probe, crocodile clip and user manual. Optional accessories include a barcode scanner, mini printer and an extensive range of pass/fail labels, snap tags, communication cables and extension lead adaptors.
