Wireless in Zone 2

The ‘Trusted Wireless’ system from Phoenix Contact, can be installed in ATEX Zone 2 hazardous areas. The RAD-ISM-2400-SET-UD-ANT unidirectional wireless transmission system is designed for high reliability applications in process industries where it is difficult or expensive to lay cables. The wireless system transmits one 4-20mA analogue and 2 digital signals over ranges up to 3000m to one or more receivers.

Using the licence exempt 2.4 GHz ISM Band the system is based on FHSS frequency hopping technology, which is capable of tolerating high levels of interference and allows multiple systems to operate in the same area.

The system is simple to set up and has a wide supply voltage specification allowing it to be used with battery or solar power systems. Phoenix Contact is one of the world leaders in developing and manufacturing connectivity solutions and automation components.
