Low voltage or mains voltage? This is the choice being offered to the specifier and installer by Thorn, which is launching an improved range of halogen downlights under the Chalice LV/MV name.

Similar to the Lightstream range, which it supercedes, the new collection provides brilliant white light in three ways: low voltage downlights, low voltage kits (with dimmable electronic transformer included) and mains voltage, without the need for a transformer. All are supplied complete with 35 or 50W lamp(s).

Satisfaction is guaranteed through the winning combination of best components, die cast aluminium bodies, long life lamps and lightweight electronic transformers. To top it all these downlights come complete with a 2-year warranty (lamps excluded)!

There is a choice of four variations: fixed, tiltable +/- 25º, adjustable 0-45 º and eyeball. The former is rated IP44 thus widening use to bathrooms (excluding Zone 0). Another ‘’plus’’ is that the external appearance has been improved with extra colour finishes and a more distinct bezel design. Matching the already successful Chalice 190 range of compact fluorescent downlights for looks a more pleasing aesthetic result can now be achieved when combining these downlights in a single installation.
