Smart metering would impact in EU energy-saving plan

BEAMAEnergy says ‘smart’ metering is solution to reducing consumer energy consumption – and providing household money savings.

Following the EU’s approval (6 June ’05) by European ministers of the first reading of the new draft European Directive designed to help consumers reduce energy consumption, BEAMAEnergy, the UK group representing manufacturers/suppliers of metering systems, says that cost-efficient ‘smart’ metering and controls systems in the home are the solution for future energy saving and carbon emission reductions.
