Health and Safety...
From a health and safety viewpoint, using the Spit Pulsa 700E to tackle a wide variety of jobs around site is simply less arduous, thanks to the tool’s intelligent, ergonomic design. Despite offering a powerful 100 joules of energy, making it the perfect tool for tackling a wide variety of substrates, the Pulsa 700E requires a mere 5kg of actuation force to move the head 16mm to its firing position making even overhead working virtually effortless. The tool itself weighs just 3.6kg weight and has been designed to balance perfectly at typical work positions. Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) ratings have been kept to an absolute minimum allowing contractors to work longer in total safety, often without the need for risk assessment.
In addition, the Spit Pulsa 700E also features a number of important built-in safety features. The integral fan not only provides the tool with the optimum fuel mix for efficient nailing, it also keep the fan cool, preventing jams and costly delays on site. When actuation pressure is applied, the Pulsa 700E’s fan will activate, alerting the user to the fact that the tool is primed, preventing it being used inadvertently.
Its quick-charge battery can be simply disconnected when not in use to make the tool completely safe while a light shows on the tool to indicate when the battery is active.
ITW has also launched a pole tool for the Pulsa 700E which allows overhead working up to 2.4 metres high without the need for ladders, scaffolding or stagings, making the whole process quicker and safer.
- Accessorise: the Pulsa 700E cordless nailer was not launched in isolation, however. A full range of nails, clips and fixings has also been specially designed for everyday electrical applications:
- Nails: a range of nails for different substrates and applications including flush headed nails, soft washered nails and nails for hard substrates will tackle most electrical installation tasks
- Clips: ITW has invested time and R&D resources in launching the only range of clips on the market specifically designed for electrical contractors. Cable clips, cable tie clips, conduit and pipe clips make fixing with the Spit Pulsa 700E quick and efficient
- Fixings: For different electrical tasks, ITW has also launched threaded rod hangers, all purpose steel bands and specially designed fire rated Firefix clips designed in conjunction with the Pirelli Firefix cable system.
- Pole Tool: Overhead fixing is faster, easier and safer than ever before with the new pole tool for the Pulsa 700E which allows overhead working up to 2.4 metres high without the need for ladders, scaffolding or stagings, making the whole process quicker and safer.
- Tapping up: If one-step fixing using a nailer is not an option, ITW’s Tapcon Masonry Anchors can provide the answer. Developed over many years and a common sight on many construction projects, Tapcon is now finding a firm position in the electrical sector. Tapcon fixings are equally efficient when used in concrete and other masonry materials. Its self-tapping screw design cuts a thread into a pre-drilled hole, reducing stress on the base material and allowing fixings to be made closer together and to edges than expansion anchors. Available in two diameters with either hex head or countersunk, Tapcon can accommodate fixture thicknesses of up to 90mm.
