Top class projects require top class tools and ITW's Spit Pulsa 700E cordless nailer is helping contractors race to the finish in a marathon project at Discovery Dock in east London where construction of 191 luxury apartments over 23 floors is underway.
Ellis Mechanical, part of Laing O'Rourke, is responsible for fixing metal fittings such as trunking and pipework brackets to the building's concrete frame. Using Spit PULSA nailers, which can fire up to 2 nails per second, they are progressing at a far greater speed than they would if using conventional fixing methods and so are making considerable savings in time on site.
At 3.6kg the Spit Pulsa 700E is the lightest cordless gas-powered fixing tool available yet it has a powerful linear combustion engine and innovative design which facilitates comfortable use all day. As well as being lightweight, Pulsa 700E is compact, well balanced and ergonomically designed so that it is comfortable and easy to use for long stretches overhead and in restricted areas.
Because the Pulsa 700E is cordless it can be used in areas where power is not available and its electronic fuel injection means that it will fire optimally in temperatures as lows as -5°c. Its cordless design also enhances mobility and makes the Spit PULSA safer to use than tools with trailing leads. The battery has a one hour charge time and will fire approximately 1,000 nails before needing to be recharged. A spare battery is provided with each tool. A complete range of accessories for fixing cables and wires is also available.
