The units eliminate energy loss, reducing operating costs significantly on every room they are fitted to.
In use in a hotel, for example, a guest simply inserts the allocated room entry card into the KeyCard or KeyTag switch and the power is activated for that room. When the occupant vacates the room, the removal of the card or tag from the switch isolates the power.
The units can also be used to control high current applications such as air conditioning and heating systems ensuring they are not left on when the rooms are unoccupied. They automatically turn off the electric appliances when the room is vacated and the card removed.
If required, two external switch mechanisms can be built into the switchplate providing manually operated switching for lights or other electrical equipment/devices, but only when the card is inserted into the unit.
For installations where no ambient light is present there is an option to fit a neon pocket indicator. This provides a backlight to illuminate the card pocket providing additional convenience for the user.
KeyCard from Elkay is designed to accept modern magnetic card room entry systems. It is available with Excel style faceplates, which have no visible screws or plugs, and has interchangeable faceplates with a choice of white, polished brass, polished silver, matt silver metallic finishes. These complement any room style or décor in hotels, guest houses and student accommodation. All this demonstrates the considerable range of options in mechanism, current rating and style that can be offered by Elkay. KeyTag is supplied with a large activation plastic key fob with ample space to print hotel details along with the individual room number.
