The theme of the 2005 conference is 'Let's talk about ... light'. It will be held on 14 and 15 April 2005 and will address the many facets of light and lighting that make for excellent architectural projects:
The 14 papers at this ELDA conference for lighting professionals will not only include exemplary lighting design projects, but will focus on specific themes related to lighting design in exterior and interior spaces, and the key role that well designed lighting plays in the overall success of a project. The papers are likely to cover the following:
1) Urban Lighting:
- New trends.
- Designing urban spaces with colour.
- Light art & lighting design.
Economic repercussions of urban lighting.
2) Commercial Lighting:
- Retail lighting.
- Shopping malls, shopping centres.
- Display lighting.
- New trends / globalisation.
3) Lighting for work and leisure:
- How light can change people's lives and attitudes.
- Lighting workplaces (office / industrial).
- Hotels, restaurants, bars.
- Lighting for active leisure time.

- Cultural differences.
- Inspiration factor daylight.
