Voltimum (www.voltimum.com, and www.voltimum.co.uk in the UK), created in 2000 by seven leaders of the electrical industry(*) to create and operate professional internet portals in six European countries(**), has now reached maturity.

More than 135,000 electrical installation professionals (installers, contractors and specifiers active in the building and construction sector) have now opened personal accounts on one of the six sites, generating an average of 200,000 monthly visits. Overall, more than 11 million pages were viewed by identified users in 2004, an increase of 400% over 2003.

Voltimum, offering on line technical information databases and support tools, aims at helping the electrical installation professionals improve their knowledge and installation skills in order to enrich and increase their business. Moreover, the company's websites are increasingly being recognized as the base for professional brands and product related information, services and support, a mission assigned by its founders.

A plan for the future:

As guests of Voltimum's Board of Directors and management team, 40 executives representing the seven founding groups from seven countries (Voltimum Austria will go live in spring 2005) attended a convention in Geneva on January 18th, 2005.

Voltimum's plan for the future was presented, discussed and approved.  It confirms the positioning of Voltimum as a leading Internet MarCom tool of the European electrical equipment industry.

It is important to remember that Voltimum is open to other leading brands active in the same sector wishing to add their presence to the 100 + brands already shown cumulatively in the six sites

Innovation being one of its strengths, Voltimum has also started enlarging its competences in fields and activities which complement its internet base such as technical events and seminars or e-learning modules. A new 'Toolbar' is also being introduced this month, in order to increase the friendliness of its data bases navigation systems.

A very powerful tool:

The Geneva convention was a rich arena, with each Voltimum country presenting 'success stories' aimed at delivering extra value to the market. Amongst other targets, Voltimum will now specifically focus on the development of user loyalty, recurrent visits and user satisfaction.

With Voltimum, the professionals of the electrical installation sector and the leading electrical material manufacturers can now count on a very powerful tool capable of being one of the vectors of growth for this sector in the future
