A number of different trades are using Spit Pulsa 700P high-performance gas-powered nailers from ITW Construction Products to speed progress on the construction of a new Diagnostic Treatment Centre at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. The gas-powered nailer is well-suited to use on hospital developments as it is quieter than the alternative powder actuated tool and the Pulsa 700P has been used to great effect by electrical, decking, and dry-lining contractors on site.
Matt Ball, project director for dry-lining contractors BR Hodgeson says: “Pulsa tools are ideally suited for partitioning and we are very happy with them. They are very fast and give a good mechanical fix.” Using the new Pulsa 700P, BR Hodgeson have made rapid progress fixing floor and overhead tracking to concrete surfaces, installing 6km of gypsum-based stud partitions. They also used Pulsa 700P tools to fix as much as 30km of partitioning during the construction of the main hospital building two years ago.
The Spit Pulsa 700P is a versatile tool with a 20 nail magazine and compact head which facilitates its use in a wide range of applications. Its powerful motor fastens up to 2 nails per second to concrete, steel, masonry, block work or wood. Pulsa 700P incorporates many features designed to help the user and promote efficiency. Light and well-balanced, it is ideal for working at all angles and its cushioned sure-grip handle absorbs impact energy. It will fix 1,000 nails before it needs re-charging, which takes less than one hour, while its cordless technology aids mobility and enhances safety on site.
