Lighting plays key role in revamping flagship store in Nottingham’s Victoria Centre.
When Boots re-designed its flagship store in Nottingham’s Victoria Centre shopping mall, it called on lamp manufacturer OSRAM and luminaire designers Advanced Lighting Systems (ALS) to help create a new lighting scheme for the retail section.
To meet this demanding brief, ALS designed a compact luminaire that could be recessed into the ceiling grid and provide high light output with minimal glare. Each luminaire uses three OSRAM DULUX® L 55W compact fluorescent lamps and QUICKTRONIC® high frequency electronic control gear (ECG) to achieve the required illumination levels.
The OSRAM DULUX® L provides virtually the same light output as a conventional fluorescent tube but is only half the length. It is ideal for applications where high lighting levels need to be generated with compact fittings.
The lighting scheme for the Victoria Centre store also includes asymmetric recessed downlighters as ‘wall washers’, using OSRAM DULUX® T/E 32W compact fluorescent lamps, again with QUICKTRONIC® ECG.
While offering the same energy efficiency and long life, OSRAM DULUX® T/E is shorter than standard compact fluorescents. It is designed for miniature luminaires and recessed downlighters, offering warm light and near-natural colour rendering – ideal for highlighting product displays.
