OSRAM donated 2,200 of the tiny pin-base lamps, which are known for their brilliant crisp white light and excellent colour rendering. Often used to create ‘starlight’ effects in ceilings, the lamps can be safely incorporated into furniture, lighting sculptures, chandeliers and other unshielded light fittings.
The OSRAM HALOSTAR STARLITE® is a tiny but powerful 12V 10W bi-pin capsule lamp. Unlike high-pressure halogen lamps, its unique low-pressure technology, pioneered by OSRAM, ensures that the lamp cannot shatter, making it completely safe for children carrying paper lanterns.
The Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games hosted more than 5,000 athletes, officials and coaches from 72 nations across 17 different sports. The XVII Commonwealth Games was the largest multi-sport event ever to be held in the UK.
