The latest addition to the ITW range of Spit Powder Actuated Tools range (PATs) is the safest and easiest to use yet. The Spitfire P370, designed for fixing to steel and concrete, is light yet powerful and offers contractors a hassle-free, safe and powerful PAT option for a wide variety of fixing tasks. In addition, a newly developed automatic piston return makes the Spitfire P370 incredibly fast on site.

The new tool has been designed with easy, safe usage in mind. Even though it is incredibly light at just 2.8kg and balanced to make single-handed operation a real possibility, the Spitfire P370 packs plenty of power at 350 joules. A power adjustment facility enables users to adjust the power according to the substrate or application, without changing the load power or nail length, simplifying fastener choice.

With a number of built-in safety features, the Spitfire P370 makes using a PAT safer and more comfortable than ever before. As well as speeding up the fire rate to one nail per second with a magazine, the tool’s automatic piston return reduces user fatigue. An integrated shock absorber featuring an exclusive rubber spring and an energy absorber at the back of the tool reduce vibration and recoil. Handy indicators quickly show whether the tool is loaded with pins and charges.

The new PAT from ITW offers users simplest maintenance routines for any PAT on the market. A quick assembly front panel, fewer parts to change than competitor models, and easy access to all of the tool’s workings makes it possible for operators to carry out maintenance on site in just five minutes, reducing tool downtime and increasing productivity.

ITW has also completely redesigned the pin magazine to make Spitfire P370 quicker and more accurate. The new magazine has a 4 x 90° adjustment with a 60mm capacity, or ten pins by strip. It is designed to be extremely narrow to allow an excellent line of sight for accurate fixing and easy access in applications with restricted space. The tool is provided with both a single shot adaptor and the ten-nail magazine, giving the user great flexibility on site. With the magazine in place, the tool can fire nails from 15-60mm, or up to 70mm as single shots.

The new Spitfire P370 will be an invaluable tool for many construction trades including dry liners, steel fabricators and general construction contractors who need to fix to steel, concrete, masonry or asphalt.

The new Spitfire P370 is the latest development in fixing technology from Spit, part of ITW Construction products. The company is a division of ITW, a multi-national corporation operating in over 30 countries worldwide. As one of Europe's leading manufacturers of anchors, cartridge tool systems, drilling and cutting equipment, ITW Construction Products offers the construction industry and allied trades a range of products specifically aimed at the professional user.
