The Memshield 2 'pod' RCBO is a concept that is unique to Eaton MEM, offering more than 800 different combinations of overcurrent rating and residual current sensitivity. It uses a modular arrangement of a standard Memshield 2 miniature circuit-breaker and a clip-on RCD 'pod'.

Units are available as factory-assembled RCBOs in 11 popular combinations of overcurrent rating and residual current sensitivity, but it is the ability to assemble the components on site that gives the device its unique qualities. Not only can the installer select the characteristics to suit the installation; the RCD 'pod' can be retrofitted to any existing single-pole Memshield 2 MCB in an appropriate distribution board.

The factory assembled RCBOs are available in five popular Type C single-pole ratings (6A, 10A, 16A, 20A and 32A) either as 10mA or 30mA sensitivity devices plus a 40A/30mA device. The 'pod' clips onto the MCB so that the combined device is only a single 18mm module wide.
