Question: In an electrical installation that I’m involved with, there is a utility tunnel in which all 66kV, 11kV, LV and low current system cables will be run inside cable ladder.

What is the necessary segregation between fibre optic cables and 66kV power cables in open space in accordance with BS Standards?

Are there any related BS or IEC standards for the necessary segregation?

Answer: The standard that you need to refer to for ICT cabling requirements is BS EN 50173.
