Question: We are currently carrying out a periodic inspection and test on a large industrial food factory. Part of the testing involves process control equipment.
Are there any publications or websites that could guide us through the fault protection of various sizes and types of motors, ranging from a small single-phase unit through to a 55kW three-phase motor?
Answer: I don't have any particular publications that you could refer to. In instances that you describe, the information is generally available from the individual manufacturers including their websites. Most manufacturers are only too willing to send you copies of their equipment or other general technical information. Editor: You should try Voltimum Manufacturing Partner ABB ( www.abb.co.uk), as this company is a major manufacturer of electric motors and drives.
