The Zetter Townhouse, a trendy new boutique hotel located in St John’s Square, Clerkenwell, London, has become the first building in the UK to feature Legrand’s Synergy Flat Plate wiring accessories.
Winner of the Good Hotel Guide’s London Hotel of The Year, The Zetter Townhouse is described as “slightly eccentric” by its owners Mark Sainsbury and Michael Benyan, “fabulous” by the Sunday Times and a “tour de force bursting with character and invention” by The Telegraph. The 13 bedroom hotel mixes period style and elegance with the latest technology. Four poster beds, free-standing baths and sash windows are teamed up with flat screen TVs, iPod docks and state-of-the art sound systems.
The hotel’s unique look has been masterminded by interior designers Russell Sage Studios who paid close attention to every detail, wiring accessories included.
When they approached Legrand for ideas, the world leader in wiring accessories suggested Synergy Flat Plate – a popular product in Europe that hadn’t been seen in the UK before.
Flat Plate, as the name might suggest, has an ultra thin profile that lends a simple elegance to switches and sockets. It is available in antique brass and brushed steel finishes and, like all products in the Synergy range, is far more than aesthetically appealing; all Flat Plate accessories are high quality, durable components incorporating several innovative features. Large angled terminals and compact mechanisms make installation quicker and easier, while 3-pin safety shutters and large contoured rockers make them safer and easier to use.
Russell Sage of Russell Sage Studios commented: “Hotel rooms need an array of wiring devices, from light switches and power sockets to speaker outlets and shaver points, so they are an important consideration from an interior design as well as a practical perspective. We used Synergy Flat Plate throughout the hotel in a combination of antique brass and brushed steel finishes. They enhanced the antique atmosphere we were looking for, without being too obtrusive in the room.”
Flat Plate is part of Legrand’s Synergy family of wiring accessories that also includes Modern, Traditional and White. Synergy is a range combining style and functionality that has been developed to provide interior designers with accessories that complement every conceivable décor, while meeting the practical and safety needs of installers and end users.
