17th Edition Wiring Regulations – the first amendment

James Hunt
Managing Editor

Dear Reader

The IET's Wiring Regulations - current edition BS7671:2008 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) - has been implemented since mid-2008. Now, the 17th Edition has had its first amendment. This was finalised in July 2011, and these important changes will come into force in January 2012. What is changing in BS7671:2008, and who will it affect?

This November 2011 VoltiTECH looks at the main amendments to BS7671:2008, including the new Electrical Installation condition Report (EICR), which supersedes the Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) .

Please note that the last three items (ignoring the CPD questions and 'Snags & Solutions'), are training courses related to the 17th Edition, but they are NOT related to the first ammendments to it.
