LuxLive 2011 - Good things come in threes for Thorn at LuxLive
21.11.2011
There were three good reasons to visit the Thorn stand at LuxLive.
Firstly, Paul Coggins, MD of Thorn UK & Ireland, broke the news that the Group’s joint collaboration with Hess AG would extend to his sales territory, helping to bring the entire Hess decorative lighting and site furnishing ranges to a wider audience. Visitors were able to see a selection of Hess products for themselves on a stand adjoining the main Thorn outdoor and indoor product presentations.
Secondly, at LuxLive the company announced the introduction of an innovative turnkey energy consultation service, Thorn Energy Solutions, which will help customers in the UK & Ireland to monitor and manage their lighting energy efficiently thereby substantially reducing energy usage and costs.
Thirdly, customers could journey through 17 different product ranges, including LEDON's retrofit LED lamps. Featuring innovative lighting technology they are ideal replacements for traditional tungsten and CFL lamps and are now available through Thorn from electrical wholesaler outlets.
On display were Thorn’s LED outdoor lighting products, such as the newly launched StyLED and Plurio LED plus previews of our new Oxane and Indra lanterns and the familiar and ever-popular Qba and D-CO LED floodlights. Interior fluorescent luminaires like Menlo³ and Elevation were on show, as were LED downlights – BaseLED, Chalice 190 LED and Lightstream 2 – and, of course, the SensaModular lighting control system. Visitors were also able to interact with certain products, such as Hi-Rack, Impact Force and the new PopPackPro featuring a new ‘Twinline’ diffuser, which delivers more light for less energy and installs in half the time of its predecessor.
Finally, many delegates took advantage of attending the complimentary seminars, including talks by Thorn’s Iain Macrae, head of Global Lighting Applications Management and Nick Clark, sales director of Thorn Energy Solutions.
