Philips SpeedStar LED road lighting luminaire is a contender in the 'Exterior Luminaire of the Year' category, recognising the most groundbreaking exterior light fitting. Meanwhile, the Philips MASTERLED 12w lamp, designed for a wide range of applications has been nominated in the 'Controls and Light Source of the Year' category.
In addition to this, Philips is sponsoring the 'Lux Rising Star' award, a prestigious honour for an emerging talent within the industry. Luke Artingstall (BDP), Christopher Knowlton (CKLD) and Ben Stephens (Light & Design Associates) are the nominees for the accolade.
The Lux Awards are complemented by the Ecolight Awards which build on the Lighting Industry Federation's Emilas Awards, appreciating the pivotal role of clients and the importance of energy efficiency in lighting. Marks & Spencer have been nominated for the 'Retailer of the Year' award by Philips and LAPD, having fulfilled the criteria for exhibiting exceptional commitment to minimising energy usage. Philips Lighting products were used in the 100% LED lit 'Simply Food' store in Sheffield, the first of its kind. The store now enjoys energy savings of between 25-30% in lighting electricity compared to those using conventional light sources.
With less than a month to go until the awards ceremony, judging is under way to recognise and celebrate those who are setting the standard for creativity and sustainability in lighting!
