Dear user, More on cable core colour changes … Following on from February’s popular VoltiBulletin on UK cable core colour changes, we have just received a very useful two-page summary guide published by the IEE for you to download. We also bring you Amendment No. 2 itself in advance of its entry into force.
Voltimum welcomes new partners …. We are very proud to welcome two important new partners to Voltimum: BASEC the British Approvals Service for Cables and ITW our first Tooling and Fixings partner.
More innovations … As usual we bring you a selection of innovations including Osram’s Powerball Lamp with improved colour rendering and Hager’s Bus system, Tebis, which is supported by an excellent 25-page technical guide. We also introduce ABB’s new range of Alpha BS wiring accessories.

Two-page summary guide on cable core colours published by the IEE IEE has just published Amendment No. 2 to BS 7671:2001 (the IEE Wiring Regulatioins). The Amendment will specify new cable core colours for all new fixed wiring in electrical installations in the UK. These new colours are sometimes referred to as "harmonised" colours, as they will bring the UK more closely in line with practice in mainline Europe.
