Question: Do I need to notify Building Control before I re-wire a domestic dwelling? Or should I notify Building Control afterwards with documentation - or both?

I am not Part P registered, but I do have experience, and am trained in the 17th Edition and BS 2391.

Answer: Building Control need to be notified in advance of the work being carried out so that they may inspect it during construction.

Building Control will also want a copy of the installation certificate on completion.
