Garret’s Story Wins Him an iPod Touch from Voltimum
|
Garret is delighted to have won an iPod touch for posting his ironic story as part of Voltimum’s 10 Year birthday celebrations.
Garret O’Donnell has been an electrical contractor for 16 years and operates mostly in the Dublin area. His company, G. O’Donnell Electrical in Rathfarnham, is registered with ECSSA and is a general contracting firm which mostly does commercial and domestic work. Projects of which he is particularly proud are the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese Ambassador’s Residence.
Garret says that the best way to win new business is by word of mouth and this has worked very well for him over the years. Times have been a bit difficult recently but he is seeing signs of improvement. A major client, a large printing company in Dublin, is investing in new machinery and taking on new staff which all means extra work for Garret.
Garret found Voltimum through the ECSSA newsletter which is an invaluable source of information for him. He finds the Voltimum website very useful indeed and it is one of his main sources of information on new products and new technologies.
The Winning Story
I got a call out a few years ago to a faulty Immersion. The customer had tried to replace the switch and wired the live into the earth terminal. I was rewiring the switch and the customer was talking about the construction industry. "Do you work in the industry?" I asked. "Yes" he said, "I'm a safety officer".
