Question: We are currently wiring a new build house in North Berwick. The gas meter is going to be 150m from the house. Note that the gas pipe to and from the meter will be plastic.
Do we have to run an earth wire from the house to the gas meter?
Answer: With reference to Regulation 544.1.2, in such circumstance the main equipotential bond should - where practicable - be within 600mm of the point of entry of the service to the building if the meter is external.
