Question: Concerning a domestic electrical installation, is it permissible to route LV power cables clipped alongside a gas pipe? These are intended to be boxed-in on the second fix.
Answer: This issue is best described in Section 2-2.3 of the On Site Guide (for Wiring Regulations, BS7671:2008) in which it states: Gas installation pipes must be spaced: a) at least 150mm away from electricity meters, controls, electrical switches or sockets, distribution boards or consumer units. b) at least 25mm away from electricity cables.
So if your installation meets these requirements then you can be sure you are using best practice.
