Question: We have just finished installing some new lighting in an existing part of a school. The lighting circuit is protected by a 10A MCB. Is this a requirement in the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations?

The consultant has requested that the 25mm Tee bar (lay in tiles) should be bonded. Is this OK?

Answer: In practice, the conductive parts of a suspended ceiling will neither be exposed-conductive parts nor extraneous-conductive-parts. Consequently, they need not be earthed or equipotentially bonded.
