UK consumers are prepared to spend money to save money on environmentally friendly products, one eco expert has claimed.
Nigel Berman, founder of nigelsecostore.com, noted that there are more people who are interested in buying small products in order to be more energy efficient, such as consumer electronics and white goods.
He also stated that people who are thinking about saving money by saving energy are "by default" thinking about the environment.
"Even though people might be thinking about their own bills, they do know it has a wider impact," he explained.
The expert added that people who are moving home or renting out a property must have an Energy Performance Certificate, and so are more likely to buy A-rated appliances.
Mr Berman's comments come after Bosch's Driving Green Britain report revealed that only five per cent of consumers are influenced by a car's green credentials when buying a new vehicle.
However, Kelkoo.co.uk found earlier this year that the green products market will be worth £17.1 billion by 2015, suggesting that consumers are interested in energy saving products.
