Over 100 newly employed electrical and plumbing apprentices from across the North East will gather for a meet and greet induction day at Durham’s prestigious Ramside Hall on 18 October.
JTL, the leading training provider to the building services engineering sector, will host the event which will show how North East companies are offering employment and quality training to young people despite the economic downturn.
The event will be a chance to meet school and college leavers playing their part to prevent skill shortages in trades, vital to the region’s recovery, in the coming decades.
JTL’s North East Regional Manager Rob Moore said: “The dedication of these young people and their employers is great news for the region amidst the gloom of rising unemployment.
The four year Advanced Apprenticeships they are embarking on requires hard work and dedication.
This day will act as an induction and a chance for apprentices throughout the North East to meet each other and share their experiences.”
