Orpington’s Walnut Shopping Centre was the latest destination for young people wishing to become apprentices, when JTL pitched up to offer free advice and information last Saturday (17 July).
Although based locally to JTL’s Orpington headquarters it is part of a series of public exhibitions, career days and stands throughout England and Wales used by JTL to promote the apprenticeship message to employers, young people and their families.
Staff at JTL attend over 150 events every year in schools, trade shows and skills fairs to brief employers about apprenticeships and show interested young people how they to become a JTL recommended apprentice.
JTL’s Assistant London Regional Manager Ian Russell said: “As the largest apprenticeship provider in the building services industry, successful candidates will have a greater chance of finding an employer.”
“Competition for places is very tough especially in the current climate, but passing a JTL initial assessment demonstrates you have the right aptitude to engage in an Advanced Apprenticeship.”
Following the Summer months JTL’s exhibition programme will include large regional skills exhibitions; Skills Wales and Skills Yorkshire in September, Skills London the following month and the electricians exhibition Elex at Sandown Park in November.
