The Carbon Reduction Commitment
Phased implementation from April 2010 leading to ‘carbon trading’ and other measures to reduce fossil energy use – notably in buildings… • Who does it apply to? • The CRC applies to large non-energy intensive public and private sector organisations (those not covered by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme). • This means around 5000 organisations that use at least 6,000 megawatt hours of electricity p.a. • Thousand of smaller energy users will also need to monitor and report their energy use.
