Renewable energy generators have been incorporated into a major new development in Brighton, it has been reported.

The Green Building Press explained that the first phase of the One Brighton development opened recently, incorporating renewable energy systems such as a central biomass boiler intended to provide heating and hot water for the community.

Photovoltaic panels will also generate energy for the environmentally-conscious centre.

The area is also making efforts to cut down on carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles.

A car club has been created which allows residents to book a vehicle from as little as £5 an hour claimed the news source.

Rob Beer, a resident at One Brighton, told the Green Building Press: "I became a car club member and it is just so much less hassle than owning a car. I don't have to deal with MOTs, insurance or maintenance and I no longer have to waste time trying to find a parking space, as the car club has its own designated space within One Brighton."
