ErP Directive for Tertiary Lighting - CPD - accredited - VoltiTech April 2010
|
This issue of VoltiTECH (previously called ‘VoltiBULLETIN’) takes a look at the Energy-Related Products (ErP) Directive for tertiary (non-domestic) lighting. The new Directive follows on from the earlier Energy Using Products Directive (EUP), and it will have significant effects on the lighting sector from April 2010 onwards. This is because many older inefficient lamp types and associated gear will be gradually phased out, starting in April. The articles in this VoltiTECH discuss the issues and show how modern lighting can replace the old with great benefit.

... this month's practical snag and its solution from the NICEIC
Re-emerging metallic pipework
Re-emerging metallic service pipework may need to be connected to the Main Earthing Terminal (MET) at the point at which it re-emerges
In Some installations, such as industrial premises, metallic pipework goes underground after the meter, and re-emerges in another location.
Such pipework may need to be connected to the main earthing terminal at the point at which it re-emerges, as well as at the point of entry into the premises.
