Question: In a residential project I'm involved with, an electrical meter room has only one entrance/exit door from and to a basement corridor, which does have exit signs. The meter room has an emergency fitting installed within it, and it measures roughly 4m X 4m. Do I need to install an exit sign in this meter room? Answer: The general requirement is that if this meter room formed part of a route then - yes, it would need an exit sign. However, as this is a single room with the added advantage of having a separate emergency fitting, I would say that an exit sign is not necessary.
