OSRAM’S LUMILUX® T8 Energy Saver: Reduce Costs with Existing Lighting Systems

LUMILUX® T8 ES tubes are especially well suited to existing systems where a complete system change including electronic control gear is not feasible. For lighting systems that have not been fully amortised yet, these tubes are also an ideal solution.

The LUMILUX® T8 ES 32 W and 51 W tubes replace the Basic 36 W and 58 W respectively and work with CCG applications. Compared with Basic lamps the LUMILUX® T8 ES achieves an energy saving of up to 10% with an increased lifetime of up to 15,000 hours. This energy saving corresponds to reduced CO2 emissions of 70kg over its life. In addition, these tubes benefit from a payback period which is less than one year.

Significantly, the LUMILUX® T8 ES complies with EU legislation that regulates the sale of energy related products. In April, the EU will begin the Tertiary Implementation Measures of its Energy Related Products (ErP) Directive which will call for a gradual phase out of the most inefficient fluorescent tubes, including halophosphate fluorescent tubes. Consequently, making the switch to energy efficient alternatives from OSRAM’s LUMILUX® range will not only provide savings, but also ensure you can replace the product like-for-like in the future.
